Amplifon was founded in Milan, Italy by an English engineer, Algernon Charles Holland in 1950. As time passed, Amplifon established itself as a leader in the hearing industry. The company continually expanded its knowledge and unique offering by entering markets all across the world.
In 2006, Amplifon acquired The Ultravox Group (incorporating brands Amplivox+Ultratone, SieTech and Hearing Health), which were established and trusted brand names in the UK. Amplifon now operates in over 20 countries with over 3 million customers worldwide.
The world has changed dramatically since the founding of Amplifon in 1950, but still stays true to its traditions and roots. “We are very excited to celebrate our 65th Anniversary,” said Craig Stevens, UK & Eire Market Director. “It highlights our extensive company history, as well as our commitment to new and existing customers for many years to come.”
“From day one, Charles Holland had a vision to continuously push human communication to the next level of excellence. He believed human communication was more than technology or science but it also meant connecting and reconnecting people with their lives,” said Stevens. “His initial vision led to several foundational principles that still remain strong today.”
“Holland built a henew linkaring aid brand that our branches are proud to offer customers daily,” said Stevens. “Despite changing business environments, Amplifon has withstood over 65 years, while staying true to the founder and his vision of innovation and superior customer service.”
To celebrate its 65th birthday, Amplifon will be holding branch events across the UK. For more information on the history of Amplifon visit their website.
